Where: Cañon City SDA Church in Cañon City, Colorado

What: Come spend a weekend camping, serving, fellowshipping, exercising, and adventuring with friends in Cañon City! 

​

Who: This Event is for anyone! 

​

Registration: $30  

​

Registration includes dry campsite  in the church field (tent or RV, no hook-ups), restrooms (no showers), Sabbath evening meal, and adventure course map material. 

Additional Details: You are responsible for your meals Friday, Sabbath morning, and all day Sunday. The church has a visitor potluck, and each registrant will be contacted about a small contribution so as not to overburden the local church.  Sabbath evening meal will be vegetarian with non-dairy options. 

 

Proposed Schedule

Friday: 

• 12:00 PM: Service Opportunity (Additional Details will be announced later)

• Set up Camp

• Supper on your own

• Evening Worship.

​

Sabbath: 

• Participate in the local church service 

• Fellowship Meal 

• Afternoon spiritual scavenger hunt hike in the local area

• Supper (provided)

• Evening Worship

Sunday: Plan on an Adventure Course event, which will be a self-paced adventure event based on materials from Rocky Mountain Adventure Series. Check this out to find out how these events are typically run: https://rockymountainadventureseries.com/adventure-on-your-own-time-8hr-virtual/

Packing List: What to Bring to complete the Adventure Event

• Drinking water

• Mountain bike and necessary safety gear

• Hiking shoes and pack

• Hand launched water craft for the paddle section

• Sunscreen

• Snacks or Lunch

• First aid kit or at least one in your group

• Head lamp

• Safety GPS device( Garmin inReach, Spot, etc.) if you have one

• Camping Gear

• Layers of clothing, Sabbath clothes

• Appropriate gear for the mountain biking, hiking, and paddling you are doing

• Snacks

• Bible

• Your Meals-Friday, Sabbath Morning, Sunday

• Your potluck share for Sabbath Lunch 

• Your spirit of adventure
